Apprenticeships are opportunities to learn a trade and earn money at the same time

At OIFSC, we offer Red Seal apprenticeships in Painting and Decorating and Architectural Glass & Metal Technician/Glazing. Each trade consists of an on-the-job component and in-school component which is delivered in three 8-week blocks.

In order to successfully complete the apprenticeship program, apprentices must complete all three levels of school and their required work hours (6,000 hours for painters and 8,000 hours for glaziers). Once apprentices have completed their schooling and work hours, they will be eligible to write the Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) exam for their trade to become a licensed tradesperson.
